Some years ago the then committee of the East Coast Ladies Kennel Assn mooted the idea of putting together a little booklet of members' tried and true recipes as a means of fund-raising.

Alas, although some recipes came in from committee members, time just didn't allow the appointed co-ordinator to do much more than file them for future use and the project was delayed but with good intentions to 'get on to it' one day.

As most of the NZ dog world will know, our club was devastated to lose our lovely Secretary, Alison Townsend, when she passed away in 2006.

As many of the NZ dog world will recall, and the lucky ones will have experienced, Alison was renowned as a hostess, and as a 'cook supreme'.

As co-ordinator, I recalled that she had provided me with a great many of her recipes for our planned recipe booklet and determined, all the more, that one day it would be put together in her memory.

This special, limited First Edition was released for sale to exhibitors at our Championship Show on December 6th, 2008.

We still have some copies available at just $6 per copy (plus $1.50 p/p within New Zealand)

$1 from the sale of each book will be donated to the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation of NZ in Alison's memory.
